LinkLoop: From Personal Need to the App Store

How a father's frustration with existing T1D apps led to building a real-time CGM monitoring platform — now live on both the App Store and Google Play.

The Problem

My daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Managing T1D means constant monitoring — blood glucose levels, insulin dosing, trend tracking, and making sure everyone in the care circle is informed. The existing apps were either too clinical, too complicated, or didn't share data the way families actually need.

I needed something that would let me check her CGM data at a glance, share it with her mom and grandparents in real time, and give me intelligent alerts when something was off. Nothing on the market did all three well.

The Solution

I built LinkLoop from scratch as a native iOS app using Swift and SwiftUI. The goal was simple: make T1D management feel less like a medical chore and more like a natural part of daily life.

Core features:

Swift 5 SwiftUI HealthKit WatchKit CloudKit Core Data Push Notifications

The Build Process

LinkLoop went from concept to App Store in a focused sprint. I handled everything: UI/UX design, Swift development, HealthKit integration, Apple Watch companion app, App Store submission, and now Google Play via a Kotlin multiplatform bridge.

v1.0 launched with the core dashboard and Care Circle. v1.2 added AI insights. v1.5 brought the Apple Watch companion app, letting users see live glucose data on their wrist without pulling out their phone.

Every update was driven by real usage — my family uses this app every single day. When something wasn't working, I knew within hours and could ship a fix.

The Result

LinkLoop is live on both the App Store and Google Play. It's a real product that real families use to manage Type 1 Diabetes. It's not a portfolio piece — it's a tool that helps my daughter and other T1D families stay healthy.

This is what I mean when I say I ship real products. Not mockups. Not Figma files. Apps you can download, install, and use today.
